There have been a few times when Ive stumbled across an artist or a group and I knew instantly that I wanted them be a Heartbeat Music highlight and The Staves are one of these few. I first stumbled across their Mahogany Session and it was instant goosebumps. Goosebumps due to their pitch perfect harmonies, lyrics, and just the overall original vibe. This british acoustic folk rock trio of sisters definitely has something special and I can’t wait to see what their musical future has in store.
The Staves are Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor, three sisters from Watford who write and compose all of their own music. Their 3-way harmonies came somewhat naturally to these sisters growing up surrounded by music. Their most recent release Dead & Born & Grown has been bringing in 10/10 reviews all over the world. The Digital Fix states, “This may be a first album, but the result is career-defining stuff. It’s beautiful, thoughtful and frankly outstanding music that relies not on production but raw, unbridled talent”. This trio of harmonies brings me back to the classic days of the 1930s/1940s Andrews Sisters. Needless to say these sisters have put a new spin on an old formula and they deserve all of the heartbeats that they can get!
